Getting-Started with SmartClient Smart GWT Ubuntu Linux - Featured

  1. Download Latest SmartClient Release:

    Latest SmartClient .zip
  2. Double-Click on Archive and Extract SmartClient into /tmp

  3. Open Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

    Ctrl+Alt+T

    sudo su -c "mv /tmp/SmartClient* /opt/smartclient"

    Correct Permissions with:

    sudo su -c "chmod -R 755 /opt/smartclient"
    sudo su -c "chmod -R 775 /opt/smartclient/smartclientSDK/WEB-INF"
  5. How-to Install Required Oracle Java JDK on Ubuntu:

    Install Oracle JDK 6/7/8 for Ubuntu
  6. Starting the SmartClient Server

    cd /opt/smartclient/smartclientSDK
    ./start_embedded_server.sh
  7. Access SmartClient Web GUI on Browser

    Point to:

    http://localhost:8080
