  1. Open a Command Line Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

    Enabling Non-Free Packages on Debian -  Open Terminal


  2. Enabling Non-Free Apt Sources

    Edit the Debian source.list File:

    sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

    If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then Look: Solution
    Append:

    • For Debian Stable
      deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free
    • For Debian Testing
      deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free
    • For Debian Unstable
      deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free

    Ctrl+x to Save & Exit from nano Editor :)

    Then Update Debian Sources with:

    sudo apt-get update

    And You are Ready to Install the Contrib and Non-Free Packages on Debian Based Systems!
