Hi! The Tutorial shows you Step-by-Step How to Install and Getting-Started with the Latest GParted Release on Lubuntu 15.10-Wily/15.04-Vivid GNU/Linux Desktop.

The Latest GParted installation is Ported on Ubuntu-based OS by the Work of the GetDeb Project Developers.

GParted is present also in the Default Apt Repository, so use that if you doesn’t care about to get installed right the Latest Release.

GParted uses libparted to Detect and Manipulate Devices and Partition Tables, and moreover, Add several Filesystem Tools to provide Support for Filesystems Not Included in libparted.

1. Open a Shell Terminal emulator window
   (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

2. Download GetDeb Repos Package Installer for Lubuntu

   GetDeb .deb Package

   GetDeb Installer

3. Installing GetDeb Repos on Lubuntu.

   cd ~/Downloads

   sudo dpkg -i getdeb-repo*.deb

   If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then see: How to Enable sudo

4. Refreshing Lubuntu Repositories.

   sudo apt-get update

5. Open the System Tools >> Lubuntu Software Center.

   

6. Search and Install the GParted Package
