Hello Ubuntu User! This Linux Tutorial Shows You Step-by-Step How-to Getting-Started with Epson Images Scanning for Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus LTS 32/64bit GNU/Linux Desktop.

Epson Image Scan! for Linux is a software that provides Graphical User Interface for Scanning on Linux Desktops.
It Includes the Driver – called backend (Epkowa) – an the Graphical Interface which enables you to scan in black & white.

To Get Installed the proper Image Scan release it’s enough to Search on Epson Download Center with your Epson Model.

Getting-Started with Image Scan Software on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial - Featured
  1. Download Epson Image Scan Software for GNU/Linux:

    Search “MY-MODEL” (Eg.:WF-3640) for Linux

    Get the imageScan Bundle.

  2. Open Shell Terminal window
    Ctrl+Alt+t on Desktop.
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

  3. Extract imageScan Bundle
    Double-Click and Extract into /tmp.

    tar xvzf ./imagescan*.deb.tar.gz -C /tmp/
  4. Install the Software Dependencies

    sudo apt-get install xsltproc

    If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then Look: Solution




  5. Then Install imageScan Software for Linux
    Change to the software Location:

    cd /tmp/imagescan*

    Then Run the Installer:

    sudo ./install.sh



  6. Launch imageScan and Start Scanning :)

    From Terminal simply with:

    imagescan
