Hello Elementary OS User! This Tutorial Shows You Step-by-step How-to Install f.lux GUI Applet and Reduce Eyes Strain and Insomnia Issues on Elementary OS 32/64bit GNU/Linux Computers.

f.lux is a proprietary computer program that Adjusts a Display’s Color Temperature according to Location and Time of day.

We know that Night-Time exposure to Blue Light keeps people up late. We believe that f.lux adjusts screens in a way that greatly reduces the stimulating effects of Blue Light at night.

The f.lux program was designed to Reduce Eye Strain during Night-time use and Disruption of Sleep Patterns.

  1. Open a Terminal Shell emulator window
    Ctrl+Alt+t on desktop
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

  2. Enabling PPA on Loki+

    sudo apt install software-properties-common

    Because on Elementary > 0.3 this facility is Not Available by default…

  3. Then Enable the fluxgui Elementary OS PPA Repository:

  4. Installing f.lux GUI for Elementary OS

    sudo apt-get install fluxgui
  5. Run f.lux GUI & Make Initial Set-Up

    sudo fluxgui

    Click on Link on Applet to Find Your Location Lat. & Long.!
    You dispose of severals Color Warmth configurations…
