Install Epson Scanner Kubuntu 16.04 Xenial

Hello Kubuntu User! The Tutorial shows you Step-by-Step How to Install Epson Scanner on Kubuntu 16.04 Xenial LTS GNU/Linux Desktop.

And Epson Image Scan! for Kubuntu is a bundle that provides Driver and Software for Scanning on Kubuntu 16.04 Desktops.

To Get Installed the proper Image Scan release for your Printer is enough to Search on Epson Download Center for your Epson Model.

1. Open a Terminal Shell emulator window
   (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

   

   In case first see: Terminal QuickStart Guide.

2. Download Epson Image Scan Driver & Software for GNU/Linux

   Search “MY-MODEL” (Eg.:WF-3640) and Linux

   imageScan Software for Linux

   In Case No Xenial then Grab the Ubuntu 16.10 Release!

3. Extract Image Scan Bundle

   Possibly Double-Click on Archive in File Manager and Extract into /tmp:

   

   Or from Shell:

   tar xvzf ./*scan*.deb.tar.gz -C /tmp/

4. Install the Software Dependencies.

   sudo apt-get install xsltproc

5. Then Install imageScan Software for Linux
   Change to the software Location:

   cd /tmp/iscan*

   Then Run the Installer:

   sudo ./install.sh

6. Launch imageScan and Start Scanning :).

   From Terminal simply with:

   imagescan
