The Guide Simply Shows How to Install the Latest Thunderbird 68 x86 for Linux Zorin 6 Gnome 32-bit Desktop.

The Same Procedure with only some Little changes will Work also on Zorin 6 Lxde Desktop.

The Post Include the Basic ScreenShots to Make Easier the Whole Visualization Steps Involved.

Thunderbird on Debian
  1. Download Latest Thunderbird for Linux.

    Thunderbird 68 i686 tar.bz2
  2. Double-Click on Archive and Extract Into /tmpZorin 6 Gnome Extract Thuderbird

  3. Open a Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

    GnoMenu >> Accessories >> Terminal.

    Zorin 6 Open Terminal
  4. Relocate Thunderbird:

    • Login as the SuperUser

      sudo su

      If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then see: How to Enable sudo

    • Move Thunderbird to Location

      sudo chown -R root:root /tmp/thunderbird && mv /tmp/thunderbird /opt/

      Overriding the Existing Default SymLink.

      ln -fs /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird /usr/bin/thunderbird
  5. Now Just Use the Default Launcher for Starting the New Thunderbird Zorin 6 Gnome Thunderbird Desktop Launcher
