But the Debian Wheezy Apt Repository is Still presenting the old Eclipse 3 Flavor with a 3.8.

Hence, here to Get Into New Latest Eclipse we Proceed Directly to Download and Installation of the Whole Eclipse for Java JEE Linux Release.

Download Eclipse 2023-03 R JEE:

Eclipse 2023-03 R IDE JEE Linux 64-bit

Select the Eclipse JEE Linux Release 64-bit from the List Contained.

Double-Click on Archive and Extract Eclipse into /tmp

Open a Terminal Window
(Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

Relocating Eclipse.

su

If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then see: How to Enable sudo

sudo chown -R root:root /tmp/eclipse && mv /tmp/eclipse /opt/

Starting Eclipse from Terminal.

Making a Symlink

ln -s /opt/eclipse/eclipse /usr/local/bin/eclipse
