This Short Guide will Show U Simply How to Install the Latest Thunderbird 68 32-bit for Linux CentOS 6.4 GNOME 32-bit Desktop.

The Same Procedure with only some Little changes will Work also on Other CentOS Releases.

Thunderbird on Red Hat
  1. Download Latest Thunderbird 68 for Linux.

    Thunderbird 68 i686 tar.bz2
  2. Double-Click on Archive and Extract it Into the /tmp Directory.

  3. Open Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

  4. Relocate Thunderbird:

    • Login as the SuperUser

      su 

      If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then see: How to Enable sudo

    • Move Thunderbird to Location

      sudo chown -R root:root /tmp/thunderbird && mv /tmp/thunderbird /opt/

      Possibly Make a SymLink.

      ln -fs /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird /usr/bin/thunderbird
  5. To Start Thunderbird from Terminal

    thunderbird
  6. Create a Thunderbird Launcher:
