This Short Guide Simply Shows How to Install the Latest Thunderbird 68 x86 for Linux PearOS 7 Gnome3 32-bit Desktop.

The Same Procedure with only some Little changes will Work also on Other Pear Releases.

How to Install Thunderbird Latest on Debian Wheezy
  1. Download Thunderbird 68 32bit

    Thunderbird 68 i686 tar.bz2
  2. Double-Click on Archive and Extract it Into the /tmp Directory.

  3. Open a Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

    LaunchPad >> Terminal

    Pear-Linux 7 Open Terminal

  4. Relocate Thunderbird:
    • Login as the SuperUser
      su 

      If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then Look: Solution

    • Move Thunderbird to Location
      sudo chown -R root:root /tmp/thunderbird && mv /tmp/thunderbird /opt/

      Eventually Make a SymLink

      ln -fs /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird /usr/bin/thunderbird
  5. To Start Thunderbird from Terminal
    thunderbird
  6. Create a Thunderbird Launcher:
