Installing Canon PIXMA MX522 Drivers for Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty LTS

Open Terminal Window
Ctrl+Alt+t
(Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)
- Installing Required Packages

Download Canon MX522 Printer Linux Driver:
Select the MX520 Series Printer .deb Driver.

Open a File Manager Window
Go to Home > Downloads

Double-Click on Printer Driver

Extract into the /tmp directory

Installing Canon Printer Driver
Access the Target location:cd /tmp/cnijfilter*deb
Run the Installation script:
sudo su -c "./install.sh"
You could be asked to Connect and Turn On the printer…

During installation You may be Asked to Connect & Power On your Printer…
If Needed Dependencies Installation First execute:cd packages
sudo apt-get install gdebi
For 32bit Systems:
sudo su -c "gdebi ./*i386.deb"
For 64-bit Systems:
sudo su -c "gdebi ./*amd64.deb"

Finally Go on System Settings to Add Printer
And the Printer will be Recognized and Installed.
