Installing Canon MG3122 Printer Drivers for Ubuntu 15.10 Wily

Canon MG3100 Printers Series Include the following Models: PIXMA MG3110, PIXMA MG3120, PIXMA MG3122, PIXMA MG3130, PIXMA MG3140, PIXMA MG3150, PIXMA MG3155, PIXMA MG3160, PIXMA MG3170, PIXMA MG3180.

1. Open a Terminal Shell emulator window
   Ctrl+Alt+t on desktop
   (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

   
2. Installing Required Packages

sudo su -c "apt-get install libxml2 libglade2-0 libpng3 libtiff5"

3. Download Canon MG3100 Printers Series Linux Driver:

   Canon MG3122 Linux .deb 32/64-bit

   Canon MG3100 Drivers.

   Select the Linux 32/64-bit OS from Drop-Down
   Then Grab the Packagearchive file!

4. Open a File Manager Window
   Go to Home > Downloads

   

5. Double-Click on Printer Driver

   

6. Extract into the /tmp directory

   

7. Installing Canon Printer Driver
   Access the Target location:

   cd /tmp/cnijfilter*deb

   Run the Installation script:

   sudo su -c "./install.sh"

   You could be asked to Connect and Turn On the printer…

   During installation You may be Asked to Connect & Power On your Printer…
   
   If Needed Dependencies Installation First execute:

   cd packages

   sudo apt-get install gdebi

   For 32bit Systems:

   sudo su -c "gdebi ./*i386.deb"

   For 64-bit Systems:

   sudo su -c "gdebi ./*amd64.deb"

8. Finally Go on System Settings to Add Printer
   And the Printer will be Recognized and Installed.
