  1. Download Viber Installer for Ubuntu

    Viber .deb 64-bit Package
  2. Open a Shell Terminal emulator window
    Ctrl+Alt+t on Desktop
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

    sudo apt-get install gdebi gdebi-core

    cd ~/Downloads

    cd /tmp/mozilla*

    To Verify that it’s there List the contents with:

    ls .
  5. Installing Viber for Xubuntu Linux.

    sudo gdebi ./viber.deb
  6. (Optional) Making a Viber Symlink for Easy Launching from Shell

    sudo ln -s /opt/viber/Viber /usr/local/bin/viber

    Then to Launch it from Terminal:

    viber
  7. Finally, Launch & Enjoy Viber!
    Use the Desktop Launcher:

    Launcher

    On Desktop if Not Launching then Fix Viber App Launcher:

    sudo nano /usr/share/applications/viber.desktop

    If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then see: How to Enable sudo
    Change the Exec & Path as:

    Exec=/opt/viber/Viber %u
    

    Ctrl+x to Save & Exit from nano Editor :)
