Finally, the Canon MG5700 Printers Series includes the following Models: PIXMA MG5710, PIXMA MG5720, PIXMA MG5740, PIXMA MG5750, PIXMA MG5760, PIXMA MG5770, PIXMA MG5780.

1. First Open a Terminal Shell emulator window
   Ctrl+Alt+t on desktop
   (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

   

2. Installing Required Packages

   sudo su -c "apt-get install libxml2 libglade2-0 libpng3 libtiff5"

3. Download Canon MG5700 Series Linux Driver

   Canon MG5750 Linux .deb 32/64-bit

   Canon MG5700 Drivers.

   Select the Linux 32/64-bit OS from Drop-Down
   Then Grab the Packagearchive file!

4. Then Open a File Manager Window
   Go to Home > Downloads

   

5. Next Double-Click on Printer Driver

   

6. Again Extract into the /tmp directory

   

7. Finally, to Install Canon Printer Ubuntu Driver
   Access the Target location:

   cd /tmp/cnijfilter*deb

   Run the Installation script:

   sudo ./install.sh

   You could be asked to Connect and Turn On the Printer…

   Now if in the Output you find trace of some Missing Package then try first to execute:

   cd packages

   sudo apt-get install gdebi gdebi-core

   For 32-bit Systems:

   sudo gdebi ./*i386.deb

   For 64-bit Systems:

   sudo gdebi ./*amd64.deb

8. Finally, Go on System Settings to Add Printer
   And the Printer will be Recognized and Installed
