How to Install Viber on Bodhi 64-bit GNU/Linux

Viber Bodhi - Setting Up

  1. Checking/Installing GDebi Package Installer

    which gdebi

    If Not there (No Output) then:

    sudo apt-get install gdebi gdebi-core

    If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then Look: Solution

  2. Installing Viber for Bodhi

    sudo gdebi ~/Downloads/viber.deb
  3. Making a Viber Symlink for Easy Launching from Terminal

    sudo ln -s /opt/viber/Viber /usr/local/bin/viber

    Launching from Terminal:

    viber
  4. On Desktop if Not Launching then Fix Viber App Launcher

    sudo nano /usr/share/applications/viber.desktop

    Change the Exec & Path as:

    Exec=viber
    Path=/opt/viber
    

    Ctrl+x to Save & Exit from nano Editor :)
