Installing

  1. 3. Downloading Driver

    Download AMD GPU Driver for Ubuntu GNU/Linux

    AMD GPU Driver tar.xz Archive

    Grab the Available Release.

  2. 4. Extracting Driver

    Then Extract AMD GPU Driver into /tmp Directory
    If it does Not Open automatically then eventually Double-Click on File Manager:

    Or from Command Line:

    tar xvzf ~/Downloads/amdgpu-pro*.tar.gz -C /tmp/

    (But if downloaded with Firefox it may be instead into /tmp/mozilla*)

  3. 5. Installing Driver

    Then to Install Radeon RX 460 Driver on Ubuntu
    For the Proprietary AMD GPU Pro Version execute:

    /tmp/amdgpu*/amdgpu-pro-install -y

    Again for the Pro with OpenCL Support:

    /tmp/amdgpu*/amdgpu-pro-install --opencl=pal,legacy -y

    Instead, for the OpenCL Headless variant do:

    /tmp/amdgpu*/amdgpu-pro-install --opencl=pal,legacy -y --headless

    Finally, for the Open-Source alternative play:

    /tmp/amdgpu*/amdgpu-install -y
