Apache on Fedora
  1. Download Apache Maven3:

    Maven bin.tar.gz for Linux
  2. Double-Click on Archive and Extract Maven3 Binaries into /tmpLinux Xfce Extract Apache Maven
  3. Open Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands):
    Fedora 17 Xfce - Open Terminal
  4. Relocate Maven3 Binaries
    su -c "mv /tmp/apache-maven-3* /opt"
  5. Check if Java JDK is Installed
    java -version

    If Java JDK is Not Installed then:

    Install Oracle-Sun JDK for Fedora

    Next you Need to know the Path to the Java JDK.

    If you Just Do Not Know How to Find JDK Location Try:

    locate bin/java | grep jdk

  6. Setup Maven Path and Environment Variables
    nano ~/.bashrc

    Insert Something Like:

    export M3_HOME=/opt/apache-maven-3.0.4
    export M3=$M3_HOME/bin
    export PATH=$M3:$PATH
    export JAVA_HOME=
    export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH

    Load New .bashrc SetUp

    source ~/.bashrc
  7. Test Maven Installation
    mvn -version

    If you Get the Maven Version the Apache Maven has been Successfully Installed on Fedora Linux :)
