This Short Guide Simply Shows How to Install Mozilla SeaMonkey Web Browser and eMail Client for Fedora 18 KDE4 i686 Desktop.

The Same Procedure with only some Little changes will Work also on All Others Fedora Releases.

SeaMonkey GNOME Penguin

  1. Download Latest SeaMonkey Linux Stable Release.

    Pick SeaMonkey in Linux-i686 tar.bz2

  2. Right-Click on Archive > Open with Ark.

    Then Extract into /tmp.

  3. Open Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

  4. Relocate SeaMonkey 

    sudo su -c "mv /tmp/seamonkey* /opt"

    Create a Symlink:

    sudo ln -s /opt/seamonkey*/seamonkey /usr/local/bin/seamonkey
