This Short Guide Shows You How to Install the Latest Thunderbird 68 x8664 for Linux Zorin 6 Gnome 64-bit Desktop.

The Same Procedure with only some Little changes will Work also on Zorin 6 Lxde Desktop.

Thunderbird on Debian
  1. Download Latest Thunderbird 68 for Linux

    Thunderbird 68 x8664 tar.bz2
  2. Double-Click on Archive and Extract Into /tmpZorin 6 Gnome Extract Thuderbird

  3. Open a Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

    GnoMenu >> Accessories >> Terminal

    Zorin 6 Open Terminal
  4. Relocate Thunderbird:

    • Login as the SuperUser

      sudo su

      If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then see: How to Enable sudo

    • Move Thunderbird to Location

      sudo chown -R root:root /tmp/thunderbird && mv /tmp/thunderbird /opt/

      Overriding the Existing Default SymLink

      ln -fs /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird /usr/bin/thunderbird
  5. Now Just Use the Default Launcher for Starting the New Thunderbird Zorin 6 Gnome Thunderbird Desktop Launcher
