This Short Guide Simply Shows How to Install the Latest Thunderbird 60 x86 for Linux Slackware 14 KDE4 i486 Desktop.

The Same Procedure with only some Little changes will Work also on Other Slackware Releases.

The Post Include the Basic ScreenShots to Make Easier the Whole Visualization Steps Involved.

Thunderbird on Slackware
  1. Download Thunderbird 60 32bit

    Thunderbird 60 i686 tar.bz2
  2. Double-Click on Archive and Extract it Into the /tmp Directory.

    Debian KDE Extract Thuderbird

  3. Open Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)
    Linux KDE4 12 Open Terminal
  4. Relocate Thunderbird:
    • Login as the SuperUser
      su 

      If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then Look: Solution

    • Relocate Thunderbird
      chown -R root:root /tmp/thunderbird && mv /tmp/thunderbird /opt/

      Make a SymLink

      ln -fs /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird /usr/bin/thunderbird

    Then to Start Thunderbird from Terminal

    thunderbird
