Open Terminal Shell emulator window
Ctrl+Alt+t on desktop
(Press “Enter” to Execute Commands) -
Download Canon MG7700 Scanner Linux Driver:
Select Linux as OS
Then the MG7700 Series Scanner .deb Driver. -
Open a File Manager Window
Go to Home > Downloads -
Double-Click on Scanner Driver

Extract into the /tmp directory

Checking/Installing GDebi Package Installer:
which gdebi
If Not there then:
sudo apt-get install gdebi
If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then Look:Solution

Install the Canon Packages with:
cd /tmp/scangearmp-*-deb/packages
For 32bit Systems:
sudo gdebi ./*i386.deb
For 64bit Systems:
sudo gdebi ./*amd64.deb
- Installing Canon Scanner Driver

Getting-Started Scanning on Ubuntu:
cd /tmp/scangearmp-*-deb
sudo su -c "./install.sh"
