GutenPrint Installation on RHEL
Hi! The Tutorial shows you Step-by-Step How to Install GutenPrint Printer Drivers for CUPS, Ghostscript, Footmatic and Gimp Print Plugin on Linux Red-Hat/Oracle/CentOS/Scientific GNU/Linux Desktop.
Gutenprint is a suite of Printer Drivers for UNIX, Linux, and macOS systems that use CUPS as their printing system.
Gutenprint currently Supports over 2600 printers.
It also includes an enhanced Print Plug-in for GIMP that replaces the print plug-in packaged with the GIMP distribution.
Gutenprint was renamed from its original name of Gimp-Print in order to clearly distinguish it from GIMP.
Moreover, the name Gutenprint recognizes Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of the movable type printing press. Finally, the word “guten” means “good” in German.

Open a Shell Terminal emulator window

Installing Required Packages.
sudo yum install cups-devel
Download GutenPrint Source for Linux
Double-Click on Archive
And Extract into /tmpInstalling Gutenprint on Red-Hat Linux.
cd /tmp/gutenprint*
./configure
make clean
make
sudo make install
The Installation will be Quickly Achieved in about 5 Minutes.
