    To Remove the ‘Execution’ Permission to the ‘World’:

    chmod a-x $HOME/world

    To Give the ‘Execution’ Permission to the ‘world’ to the Owner:

    chmod u+x $HOME/world

    To Give the ‘Execution’ Permission to the ‘world’ Also to the Owner’s Group:

    chmod g+x $HOME/world
