    To Enable the VMware Tools without Rebooting
    Try:

    vmware-user-suid-wrapper

    Drag & Resize the Window to Check that the Tools are Working.
    Then the Desktop should automatically Fit the window’s Size.

    Assure that Linux will Load VMware Tools at Boot:
