4. Installing Chrome
Next to Make a Simple Google-Chrome Installation:
First, Set Ownership with:sudo chown -R root:root ~/Downloads/google-chrome
Then Switch All Contents into the Target Directories:
cd ~/Downloads/google-chrome
sudo mv etc/* /etc/
sudo mv opt/* /opt/
sudo mv usr/bin/* /usr/bin/
sudo mv usr/share/gnome-control-center/* /usr/share/gnome-control-center/
sudo mv usr/share/* /usr/share/
Again Set up Sandbox Permissions:
sudo chmod 4755 /opt/google/chrome/chrome-sandbox
Finally, Make a Symlink for Easy Launching:
sudo ln -s /opt/google/chrome/google-chrome /usr/local/bin/google-chrome
