April 28, 2020 | By the+gnu+linux+evangelist.

Installing

  1. 2. Installing RVM

Then to Install RVM on MX Linux
    First, Import the GPG Key:

    sudo gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 409B6B1796C275462A1703113804BB82D39DC0E3 7D2BAF1CF37B13E2069D6956105BD0E739499BDB

Then to Install RVM Stable simply play:

    curl -L https://get.rvm.io | sudo bash -s stable

Where instead for the latest Development Branch:

    curl -sSL https://get.rvm.io | bash
  2. 3. Setting Up User’s Environment

Start by Adding User to “rvm” Group
    Using:

    sudo usermod -a -G rvm $LOGNAME

Next to Enable the Rvm Configuration through the Bash Environment:

    echo 'source "/etc/profile.d/rvm.sh"' >> ~/.bashrc

    And again:

    echo 'export rvm_path="/usr/local/rvm"' > ~/.rvm

    Finally, to Enable it run:

    bash
  3. 4. Fixing Permissions

Now to Setup Permissions on System
    So run:

    rvm fix-permissions

    And again:

    rvmsudo rvm use ruby

Next to re-Login on the Shell:

    su -l $USER

But in case of Issue try to Set directly Permissions with:

    sudo chmod -R 775 /usr/local/rvm

    And:

    sudo chmod 755 /etc/rvmrc
