Canon MG5700 Scanner Installation in Ubuntu 20.04

Installing

  1. 2. Downloading Canon Scanner Driver

    Download Canon MG5700 Scanner Linux Driver

    Canon MG5700 .deb 32/64-bit Driver

    Select the Linux 32/64-bit OS from Drop-Down.
    And a Driver is Valid for All Series Printer
    So Eg: for “MX495” is Good for All the “MX490” Series
    And again the “MG2250” for “MG2200” Series.

  2. 3. Extracting Canon Scanner Driver

    Then Extract Canon Scanner Driver
    Eventually Double-Click/Right-Click to Open with Archive Manager:

    And Extract into the /tmp Directory:

  3. 4. Installing GDebi

    Checking/Installing GDebi Package Installer:

    which gdebi

    If Not there then:

    sudo apt-get install gdebi gdebi-core

    If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then Look:Solution.

  4. 5. Installing Canon Scanner Driver

    Now to Install Canon Scanner Driver
    Access the Target with:

    cd /tmp/scangearmp-*-deb

    Then to Install the Packages for 64-bit Systems play:

    sudo gdebi ./*amd64.deb

    Finally, to Install Canon Scanner Driver:

    cd /tmp/scangearmp-*-deb
    sudo ./install.sh
