3. Copying Packages Status File
So to Make a Copy of the Packages Status File
Just in case you’ll be forced to Restore them…sudo cp /var/lib/dpkg/status /var/lib/dpkg/status.bak
4. Editing Packages Status File
Edit the dpkg “status” File.
sudo gedit /var/lib/dpkg/status
Or:
sudo nano /var/lib/dpkg/status
Remove All Blocks Beginning with Package: [myPackageName] and Ended with a Blank Line

Save the File.
5. Recovering System
Try Again to Repairing System
Running:sudo apt-get -f install
