4. 4. Installing Brother Printer Driver

   Then to install Brother Printer Driver on Ubuntu 24.04, follow these steps:

   First, access the target directory with:

   cd /tmp

   To check it’s there, list the contents:

   ls . | grep brprinter

   The grep command refines the output list, showing only the entries matching the keyword.
   Then give execution permission:

   chmod +x linux-brprinter-installer*

   Now to run the installation script, execute:

   sudo ./linux-brprinter-installer*

   When prompted, insert your Brother Printer model!

   

   The installer will automatically download and install the printer and possibly also the scanner drivers.
   When prompted about a Device URI:

   • For a USB connection, simply enter “n”.
   • For a network shared connection, go to: http://localhost:631/printers/
     Select the printer
     Select “Modify Printer”
     Enter your sudo username & password
     Select the protocol and continue…
