Linux Ubuntu Howto Enable the Root User

If you are New on Ubuntu and you Try to Gain Access as the Root User you will Find your Way Barred…

This Because to Enable the Root User you Must First Set His Password!

  1. Open a Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)
  2. To Set the Root User Password Execute these Commands
    sudo su

    If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then Look: Solution
    Insert your Password

    passwd root

    Set the Root Password
