  • Open a Terminal Window
    (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

  • Start Glassfish 3 Server

    asadmin start-domain domain1

    If you Changed the Default Domain Name then Adapt Consequently the Command…

    If Do Not Find asadmin:

    Try to Locate the asadmin Utility.

    which asadmin

    If No Result then:

    1. Search for asadmin with Locate Command 
      locate asadmin

    2. Modify System Variables and Path: 
      nano ~/.bashrc

      Insert: 

      export GLASSFISH3_HOME=glassfish3
      
export PATH=$GLASSFISH3_HOME/bin:$PATH

      Load System Set-Up:

      bash

  • Download the HelloWorld.war Example File.

    Java HelloWorld.war Example

  • Deploy HelloWorld.war 

    sudo asadmin deploy /hello.war

  • View HelloWorld.war

    On Browser Go To URL:

    http://localhost:8080/hello

    Make Correction If you Changed the Default Glassfish Port.
