Before the 23 of April 2015 you’ll have to Switch to the Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Development Branch…

1. Open Terminal Console Window
   Ctrl+Alt+t
   (Press “Enter” to Execute Commands)

2. Upgrading to Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet

   sudo su

   If Got “User is Not in Sudoers file” then see: How to Enable sudo

   apt-get update

   apt-get dist-upgrade

   do-release-upgrade

   If Got “No new releases found” after the 23 April 2015 or in any other Case to Anticipate a New Release with the Dev one:

   do-release-upgrade -d

   Follow the Command Line Wizard until to Authorize with “y” for Upgrading Startup.
   Then you’ll Need to Wait for some Time… Until the Upgrading Process is Successfully Achieved.

   reboot

   Then Reboot Into your Barely New Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet! :)

3. Last but Not Least Update Again the New System

   sudo su -c "apt-get dist-upgrade"
