How to Install CUDA 10 for openSUSE Tumbleweed 64-bit Step By Step

July 13, 2019 | By the+gnu+linux+evangelist.

Installing

  1. 2. Pre-Installation Testing

Then Verify on CUDA Capable GPU.

    lspci | grep -i nvidia

But if you do Not see any NVIDIA hardware on Output then first install:

    sudo update-pciids

    Then try Again…

  2. 3. Setting Up NVIDIA CUDA Repo

See How Setup CUDA openSUSE Repo Package

    OpenSUSE CUDA Repository Setup
  3. 4. Installing NVIDIA CUDA 10

Finally, Install CUDA 10 Toolkit in openSUSE
First, search for the available CUDA Releases with:

    zypper search cuda-toolkit

    Then to setup it play:

    sudo zypper in cuda-toolkit-[x.y]

Replace [x.y] with the needed CUDA Version in the above.

  4. 5. Setting Up Path

    Again Setup PATH Env Variable.
This is necessary to Find the Binaries on System:

    echo 'export PATH=/usr/local/cuda-10.0/bin${PATH:+:${PATH}}' >> $HOME/.bashrc

Possibly Amend the 10.0 with the Actual Version…
    And Reload Configuration simply with:

    bash
